Add some details about the artwork setting fee for screen printing plastic bottles
(1) First, there are huge differences in the process and cost calculation between screen printing and flat printing (labeling/stickers). Our screen printing is not printed on the “sticker” material but printed on the plastic bottle itself. So some of the cost is in the workflow of processing the plastic bottle to make it printable.
(2) Next, the biggest cost of screen printing comes from the number of colors, because the difference from flat printing (labeling/stickers) is that flat printing only needs four printing plates to process multiple colors (using dots to mix colors), while screen printing It is impossible to do, so screen printing requires one printing plate for each color.
(3) This artwork setup fee includes file conversion, film production, print plate production, storage, and maintenance costs. The production of screen printing printing plates is different from that of flat printing. Now flat printing (labeling/stickers) has largely switched to fully automatic plate making, so the cost has dropped a lot. However, screen printing plates still require manual production.
(4) Therefore, even if the product only has one color for screen printing, we still need to charge the customer for this artwork setup fee, because these fees are necessary for the preparatory work of screen printing. Please note that printing costs are included and billed with the unit price of the product and are not listed separately.
(5) Based on the above information, the cost estimation method of screen printing is different from that of flat printing, so please be sure to pay attention to this difference when evaluating. The artwork setup fee will only be charged to the customer for the first production, but this fee will not be charged to the customer thereafter except for changes to the layout design.
Sincerely,
